Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
