David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
